Opening Ceremony Held For Cobham MSA

Opening Ceremony Held For Cobham MSA

Already serving in excess of 60,000 vehicles per week

Since opening on 13th September our new Extra motorway service area on the M25 at Cobham, has attracted some 90,000 customers per week. We held an official opening ceremony on Saturday 6th October and in attendance, pictured below, were Stephen Hammond – Road Minister, Daphne Young – the original landowner of the Cobham site and Andrew Long – CEO Extra MSA Group.

Stephen Hammond, Minister for Roads commented on our new site: “I think Extra and their construction team have done a great job in building this handsome service area. I am particularly struck by the outside eating area, and the obvious care that has been taken with the landscaping, creating both a pleasant environment for visitors and a valuable shield between the service area and the surrounding countryside.”

“I am impressed by the quality and variety of the food, drink and retail concessions that I have seen inside, and I think it is evidence of the upward trend in quality of motorway service areas in this country.”

Andrew Long, CEO of Extra MSA Group added: “The new Extra service area at Cobham has proved to be a tremendous success with travellers on the M25 and has already exceeded our initial projections for vehicles using the site. Cobham has been the catalyst for us to build upon by introducing a number of key facilities, many of which are also now on offer throughout Extra’s portfolio of motorway service areas and also those planned for the future.”
