Travelling business people may never need to venture into city centres again now that Regus is offering business lounges in motorway services. The serviced office provider has announced a partnership with Extra Motorway Service Area Group through which it will open business centres at services on the M40 at Beaconsfield, the M25 at Cobham and the A14/M11 at Cambridge this September. The lounges will include meeting rooms, printing, copying, secure business-class wifi and administrative support services. Mark Dixon, Regus chief executive, said: “This is another logical step in the global trend towards flexible working. This will create even more opportunities for our customers to work remotely.” The partnership with Extra follows similar deals with Shell to trial business lounges in service stations in Europe as well as French train operator SNCF and Dutch rail firm NS. To access the Regus business lounge, users buy a day pass at the service station checkout or swipe a Regus Businessworld card. The company operates 1,200 centres in 550 cities and 95 countries worldwide, and has some 1 million customers a day. Regus was founded in Brussels in 1989 and is headquartered in Luxembourg but listed on the London Stock Exchange. Its shares were unchanged at 86.8p in morning trading.
